Endowed Gifts

Endowed Gifts provide for security over the long term by expanding The Chaplaincy’s permanent financial base and creating a predictable source of future income in perpetuity.

Endowment Wall
In memory of her mother, the endowment wall in the hospice house was made possible by Deborah Barnard and her family.  Your gift of $1,000 or more leaves a lasting legacy of your loved one on the wall and benefits the work of The Chaplaincy.

Individual Named Endowments
An endowment received in the name of an individual establishes a permanent fund, which provides perpetual, annual support for The Chaplaincy. Your gift of $25,000 or more establishes an endowment and creates a lasting legacy in your name or the name of someone you wish to honor. Your endowment benefits a Chaplaincy priority of your choice, or you may give The Chaplaincy discretion to apply the payout from your gift to one of our highest priorities. The concept is simple:

  • All endowed funds are established by a written gift use agreement between the donors and The Chaplaincy;

  • Your gift is invested prudently, in accordance with Chaplaincy policies, so that over time the endowment’s buying power is preserved;

  • Each year, a percentage of your endowment’s market value may be used to benefit the area you designate in your gift use agreement;

  • Your endowment will be used for the purpose that you designate, consistent with The Chaplaincy policies.

For more information or questions concerning endowments, contact The Chaplaincy Endowment Committee at 783-7416 or email info@tricitieschaplaincy.org

Planned Gifts (Wills)

By taking such a step now, you can provide a lasting benefit to the future work of The Chaplaincy. Always seek professional legal help in drawing up your Will.

  • Remembering the The Chaplaincy in your Will: No matter how big or how small, we all have a right to plan how our estate is to be distributed after our death.  You may choose to leave a specific dollar amount, a fixed percentage of your estate, or you can designate that the balance (residue) of the estate be left to a charitable organization such as the The Chaplaincy, after you have provided for selected individuals.  By making provisions now to remember the The Chaplaincy in your will, you are ensuring that your generosity to those in need, lives on after you.

All it requires is a simple sentence in your Will such as:  “I bequeath $____  or  ____% of my estate to the Tri-Cities Chaplaincy.”

  • Other options for your estate:  To learn about deferred or planned gifts, such as life-income plans, charitable remainders trusts etc, we encourage you to meet with your attorney and financial advisor to determine if such a plan could meet both your financial and philanthropic needs.
