Chaplain Wes McIntyre

Director of Spiritual Formation

Rev. Wes McIntyre is a Methodist minister with over 30 years of experience in parish ministry, hospital chaplaincy, and clinical supervision.  He is an ACPE certified supervisor and oversees The Chaplaincy's Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) program.

Wes came to The Chaplaincy in 1993 and initially served as the primary chaplain at Kennewick General Hospital.  At present, beyond his primary work in CPE, he does on-going staff development and uses his training as a Spiritual Director in our program of Spiritual Companioning

Since 1994, Reverend Wes McIntyre has been a CPE supervisor.  Prior to that, he was involved in supervision and supervisory training for five years.  He completed his residency year of CPE at Deaconess Medical Center in Spokane, Washington in 1989.  His first unit of CPE was completed at Eastern State Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky in 1980.  Wes graduated from Asbury Theological Seminary that same year.  He is ordained with the Free Methodist Church of North America and has over seven years experience as a parish pastor in the Northwest.

From 2001-2003 Wes was involved in an in-depth, two year training program leading to a certificate in Spiritual Direction.  Wes is a member of Spiritual Directors International.  He is also trained in the Enneagram, a tool for self understanding and spiritual growth.  More recently Wes completed additional training as an Anamcara.  The Art, Science and Practice of Sacred Relationship.
