Who is Eligible for Hospice?

Hospice care is appropriate for people who have a terminal illness with a prognosis of approximately six months or less and who are no longer seeking a cure. Patients are eligible regardless of race, religion, age , sex, ethnic background, ability or inability to pay.

Pediatric Hospice Care

We provide developmentally appropriate hospice care to infants, children and adolescents with life-limiting conditions. The hospice approach to care is holistic and includes emotional, spiritual, and practical support in addition to medical care.

How Does Hospice Care Begin?

Anyone can make a referral for hospice care – a physician, friend, family member, or neighbor. Hospice at The Chaplaincy staff members are available by phone 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Once a referral is made, a Hospice representative will schedule a visit with the patient and their loved ones. Care can usually begin soon after a referral.
